Service Committee

The Service Committees are: Book Discussion; Foreign Language Conversation groups include: French, German, Italian, and Spanish; Cultural Exchange groups include Turkish, Russian, Arabic, and Japaense; Home Hospitality, International Coffee and Cultural Exchange include: Washington DC, Bethesda/Chevy Chase MD, Potomac/Rockville MD, Arlington VA THIS/AAUW, McLean VA THIS/AAUW, Northern Virginia; Bridge; Mahjong; and Tennis.

These committees meet on a regular basis, usually in the homes of volunteers, and there is no charge (or at most, a nominal fee) to the diplomats for these services. Volunteers on Service Committees have diverse responsibilities, and the opportunities for one-on-one interatction with diplomats are unlimited.
