Cultural Event Enchants THIS Guests at the Embassy of Pakistan

THIS for Diplomats would like to thank the Embassy of Pakistan, His Excellency Ambassador Masood Khan and Zaigham Abbas, the embassy’s press and cultural attaché, for their kind efforts hosting a special cultural event at the embassy on March 7. Held in collaboration with THIS, the occasion was organized for the diplomatic community. Supporting the special event was Nida Jamal, THIS’ Executive Committee member and Advisory Board coordinator.

His Excellency Ambassador Masood Khan gave the keynote speech in which he spoke about diplomacy strengthening bonds between people and building trust amongst nations. He said, “Trust is the key ingredient of diplomacy, and you have to build it, it's not a given. We start with acquaintances then turn those acquaintances into friendships developing trust between two individuals, two communities, and two nations, and then we start transactions of all kinds whether economic transactions or political transactions.”  Ambassador Masood Khan made these remarks while addressing a jam-packed hall with a large number of women participants during an event held the day before International Women’s Day.

He observed that THIS is “an international community in miniature, representing different nations here in the United States. THIS for Diplomats turns these foreigners into a family, so that you can connect and understand each other’s perspective in a better way.” Terming it the beginning of a strengthened relationship between the Embassy of Pakistan and THIS for Diplomats, Ambassador Masood Khan thanked all participants for joining in the celebration of Pakistan’s rich culture and applauded the invaluable role of THIS for Diplomats in creating a global family of diplomats, fostering connections, and bringing people together to celebrate diverse cultures.
